Table of Contents
1.Tata Altroz – The Safest Hatchback with 5-Star Rating

Tata Altros is coming with a major upgrade and a lot is being offered here from Tata Motors that makes it very exciting. Now what is new, new design elements have come in this car, due to which the car is looking very good, LED headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles and connected tail lamps.

This car looks quite futuristic, all the features are also available in the interiors, so everything is available in safety. The build quality is also good, along with this it also gets full five-star ratings. So in terms of safety you do not need to worry about anything.
By the way this is the only hatchback that is available in India today, which has been given five stars by Global NCAP. The features are a 10 inch touch screen, digital instrument cluster which is completely customizable, Wireless Android, Auto Apple Carplay Hrm & Com Music System, 65 W, Type C charging port, Rear AC vents, Voice controlled Folded sunroof and the list pretty much goes on. There is a lot on offer and it is a very spacious car.
The front and seats are quite wide and supportive. Three people can comfortably sit in the second row without any problem and its boot space is also quite big. So due to all these aspects, it becomes a very good choice for you. If you want to buy a very comfortable, practical and safe car, all the options of petrol, CNG, diesel have been made available to you, due to which it becomes a perfect choice for you.
2. Nissan Magnite – Budget SUV with Turbo Power

Now the next choice again for you is the Nissan Magnite: You will get the car under Rs 10 lakh only till its mid model, rest of the variants go up to Rs 12 lakh, so the variants under Rs 10 lakh. They become a very good value proposition for you.It has got a four star rating in terms of safety, so there has not been much compromise in terms of build quality, along with this you get a big sized car and plenty of features as well.
The fit finish of the Nissan Magnite that used to come earlier was not that great, now they have improved it, they have added soft touch elements in it.Along with this the overall quality of drive and ease of driving is very good.
Now in this car you get a 1 liter turbo and non turbo engine, so the non turbo engine will give you okay performance and better fuel efficiency. But it’s a very spacious car and the turbo engine is very good, it will give you good pickup and mileage as well.
But its price increases a little, so this becomes a very good package for you, there are a lot of features as well, 360° camera, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, wireless mobile charging, almost literally all the features are available here.
But if you compare its quality to More expensive cars which come for 14, 16, 17 lakhs are SUVs of its size. So in that situation its quality will be somewhere less than that but it is still a good value proposition as an overall packing.
3. Maruti Baleno / Fronx – Practical Hatchbacks with Great Mileage

Maruti s Baleno and the Fronx, both similar cars have come to a great extent, call it a hatchback or SUV, it does not matter. By the way, all the other cars that I am talking about here are not technically SUVs.
But yes, if you look at both of them, they are the same car with minor tweaks. So their variants which come under 10 lakhs become a very good choice for you. And discounts are available on Baleno due to which you should probably get its top end under 10.5 lakhs on road, which according to me is a good proposition.
Now in both these cars you have good space, almost all the features are there, there is a four cylinder petrol engine, the rest of the cars I am talking about here are mostly of them. Which one is not going to come in this and you will get a very good performance and mileage.
All the features, 360° camera, heads up display, you will get AC vents in the rear, you know the list is pretty much there is Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, fit and finish of the car is good. The interiors do not feel very premium but it’s a nice package overall.
Now here the overall performance of this car for the petrol engine is just perfect and you will not feel this 1.2 L engine. It actually feels a lot more powerful than that but one down side of this car is that the overall build quality is not at par with most of the cars.
I am going to tell you here : Baleno has not been crash tested but most of the Maruti cars which come in this category have got two star ratings recently Dzire was tested which got five stars but Baleno is an old car.So now when the new Baleno or upgrade comes, possibly that’s when we can expect these changes to come.
4. Tata Punch – Compact SUV with 5-Star Safety

Tata Punch car has also got a full five star rating and this is a fantastic choice for you to look at. In this car you get good build quality. It is also a bit butch in appearance and when you drive the car, you also get that high seating position which you generally expect from an SUV.
Along with this, you also get a lot of features in this car. If you go to see, a large screen has been introduced recently. Sunroof has come and along with this, a two-cylinder CNG option has also been given in it, you will also have good boot space in the car.
At any given point of time, if you want to go on a long trip, now definitely one more thing was introduced recently in the Punch that rear AC vents were given at the back. But its overall engine performance is not comparable to most cars, meaning you should have got a little more punch in it, which is clearly missing.
So in Tata Punch, apart from the engine, you get almost everything perfectly. It is a very reliable car and the chances of problems coming in it are also negligible because mostly whatever is given in this car, electrical or electronic, has been tested to a great extent. And it is one of the most reliable cars from Tata Motors.
5. Hyundai Exter – Premium Feel & Smooth Drive

Hyundai XTR is the last car that comes with a 2 cylinder engine and this is the only second car in this category that is offering this to you. But let me tell you that due to some elements in XTR, many people have not liked it.
If you sit inside this car and drive it, you will fall in love with it. Its interiors feel very premium. The touch and feel of the materials is very good and the drive quality of the engine is fantastic. Especially if you see its AMT model, it just feels very nice to drive and many people neglect these things because not many people are impressed with the styling of XTR, which was my situation initially as well.
But after driving that car, I can tell you that this is a very good package and in this also they have introduced twin cylinder technology in the CNG, due to which XTR becomes a very good package for many buyers. Because here you also get boot space.
The features are also good, Hyundai claims. That they will get a five star rating on this car but to be honest Hyundai has launched this car and it has been almost 1.5 to 2 years but they have not done the crash test of this car. So that’s where we come to the fact that right now because there is no score then we will not get into that claim.
Conclusion:-
These were the five cars under 10 lakhs, I have not put them in any order. I am saying these are the top five cars according to me. If you have more questions you can ask me in the comment box. We will try to answer them.
